Trackmaster became the first team in the Colombo Super League 2003 tournament to cross the 100 point mark when they thrashed Ramblers BC 102 - 47 at St. Joseph's Girls School, Nugegoda on Wednesday. The Trackmaster side was playing their first match of the Women's "A" Division competition. Playing the game with only seven players, Trackmaster took a firm grip of the match despite few early lapses and went onto win the game convincingly. At the short whistle Trackmaster were leading 44 - 19.

Although they played with seven players, all of them had represented the national side in recent international tours and were very experienced. The margin of victory of the match was 55 points. Incidentally, the 55 point margin defeat was the biggest in the tournament so far. 23-year old former Sri Lankan Skipper Danushka Wijesinghe did most of the damage. She scored 23 points. Sanduni Bollegala, who had represented Sri Lanka in both basketball and netball netted 18 while national captain Premila Fernando potted 17. For the losers, Dinali Seneviratna scored 14.

Meanwhile, the Depot Police Court at Bambalapitiya hosted the "A" Division match between Air Force and David Pieris, Air Force recorded their first win in the tournament convincingly beating David Pieris by 29 points. The Airmen led 40-27 at the end of the first half and cliched the game 88-59. Ravi Dodangoda of Air Force had a wonderful day as he finished the game scoring 35 points. For David Pieris, Jude Saranga scored 18.

In men's "B" Division match, Moratuwa BC "B" recorded their second win of the competition when they beat X Aloysians by 23 points. Moratuwa led 29,13 at the end of the first half and won the game 68-45. For the winners, Ruzni Mohammed scored 27 while Denur Dias had 12 and Rusdi Ahamed netted 10 points.

On Thursday, Delmege BC recorded their third win when they beat hosts Colombo BC by nine points in a crucial "A" Division match at the Depot Police Courts.

The main architect of the victory was the 21-year-old Prageeth Pushpakumara of Delmege.

Delmege got off to a flying start with the Colombo players making too many mistakes earlier on in the game. However, the Colombo side bounced back in the second half of the game and tightened things up with some good defending and the pressure fell back on Delmege. The pressure mounted when one by one Delmege players were sent off after committing five fouls. In all, four Delmege players were ejected for foul play and it looked as if Colombo might take the game away from the leaders.

However Pushpakumara played brilliantly and there was no stopping him. The youngster has already made a name for himself with the national side and has been in excellent form in the tournament so far. His exploits were largely responsible for Delmege's 68-59 win.

Pushpakumara scored more than half the points for his side as he ended up with 36 points. Roshan Gunasekara and Ranpath Mendis scored eight points each. For the Colombo side, Gayan Samaraweera scored 23 while Asela Muthuthanthri made 13, Roshan Randima scored nine. Menawhile in a "B" Division match played at Amal International, Maroons beat Bohoras 69-38. The winners were leading 29-15 at the short whistle. For Maroons Mithila Abeysekara scored 29 points while Ali Asaga scored 24 for the losers.
