Hettiarachchi to lead Sri Lanka 'sevens' team Radhika Hettiarachchchi of Kandy Sports Club has been picked to lead the Sri Lanka 'sevens' rugby team at the Singer-Sri LankaAirlines Rugby Sevens which will be worked off at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy from September 5 to 7. Hettiarachchi has represented Sri Lanka since 1998 and has played in the Hong Kong Sevens, Dubai Sevens and Singapore Sevens. The Sri Lanka Sevens team includes one schoolboy Prasad Chathuranga of St. Anthony's. The Sri Lanka Sevens squad from which the final 10-member team will be picked from Radhika Hettiarachchi (Kandy - Captain), Prasad Chathuranga (St. Anthony's), Sithara Fernando (Army), Amjad Bucks (Kandy), Nilufer Ibrahim (Kandy), Pradeep Liyanage (Kandy), Dinesh Kumara (CH & FC), D. Pushpakumara (Kandy SC), Sumedha Jayasinghe (CR & FC), Perakum Fernando (Army), Buddhika Thalagampola (CR & FC), Senaka Bandara (CH & FC), C. Thushara (Police), Z. Halimdeen (CR & FC) and Rohan Fernando (Air Force). |
