Indian IT Guru here on September 7

IT Guru Narayan Murthy, Chairman, Infosys of India will arrive in Sri Lanka on September 7 at the invitation of Rohitha Bogollagama, Minister of Industries. He will be participating at the Yugadekma Industrial Exhibition on September 7 evening at Matara.

He will also join Minister Rohitha Bogollagama to declare open the Nippolac Paint Factory on the same afternoon at 4 p.m. along with Minister Mahinda Wijeskera and Justin Gallappththy, Member of Parliament for Matara. On September 8 he will be meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank at a working lunch hosted by the Governor.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe will be hosting a working dinner for the visiting IT Guru and at this discussion the focus of attention will be the development of IT. This is the second consecutive occasion that Narayan Murthy will participate in an important event. He was at the Trincomalee Yugadekma. Exhibition last year.

She needs your help

Baby Mohammed Rosan of Thambala, Polonnaruwa is suffering from an acute heart disease and needs urgent surgery to save his life according to Dr. P. A. Guneratne, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital.

The surgery including disposables and drugs is estimated to cost Rs. 250,000. Rosan's father who is a minor employee says he is unable to foot this bill due to his present financial plight and requests philanthropists and the public to assist his son's cause by sending what ever financial contributions possible.

Cancer patient seeks help

Mrs. Samanthi Rodrigo, a mother of two of No. 15, Jambugaha Kotuwa, Kahalla, Katugastota is suffering from a terminal disease and needs regular specialised treatment which is extremely costly.

Her husband Vijitha Rodrigo says he is without a permanent job and finds it extremely difficult to cater to her medical needs and requests, philanthropists and the public to assist his wife's cause by providing whatever financial assistance possible towards her treatment. All contributions should be remitted to account number 875 7495901 at the Commercial Bank, Katugastota branch.
