The foundation stones of these buildings were laid last Friday 29, August by the Minister of Human Resources Development Education and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku and Colombo Mayor, Prasanna Gunawardena. The proposed buildings will serve students who are passing out from college to steer their career path on a vocation most suited with their skills and interest. The counselling centre will cater to students who need guidance and advice in choosing a profession.

All Royalists who wish to be part of the Parade have to report to their respective groups by 3.00 p.m. at the entrance to the swimming pool. Those who wish to join the parade could purchase tickets priced Rs. 300 from the sales points.

If all this is not enough, the end of the parade gives rise to an extravagant musical fiesta at the Royal College Sports Complex featuring Bathiya & Santhush and a host of artistes ranging from Ronnie Leitch, Ginger and Corrine to name a few. The whole complex will be decorated to depict a carnival atmosphere with food and drink stalls to cater to the public. All are invited to join in and witness the parade and later be part of the show.
