ETF buys one million NDB shares

The Colombo Bourse continued its upward trend for the second day of the week yesterday. The ASPI increased to 1,100.2 points from 1,091.9 and the Milanka index to 2,147.4 points and 2,120.7.

ETF bought one million shares of NDB from a foreign seller which finally helped increase the day's turnover to Rs. 437.97 million.

Some 1.6 million shares of Asian Hotels were also sold.

Among the mostly traded stocks were Asia Capital, Bairaha Farms, Blue diamonds, Caltex, Connaisance, Distilleries, Hunters, JKH, Merchant Bank, Nations Trust, SLT, Taj Lanka and Trans Asia.

The Finance announced a 12% first and final dividend.
