Commerce Ministry on-line with attaches overseas The Commerce and Consumer Affairs Ministry will today inaugurate the direct on-line channel between the Commerce Department and Commercial Attaches` of Sri Lankan missions abroad in order to facilitate trade and expedite information exchange. A ministry official said that the Commerce Department will initially link up with the Commercial Attache` in Japan this morning. "To mark the inauguration Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake will have a live video conferencing with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe who will address the occasion from Temple Trees," the official said. He said the Ministry's website will also be launched today. The Commerce and Consumer Affairs Ministry is also launching an intranet service to ensure better communication between the Ministry and the various departments under it. "It is the first time in the country a Ministry is launching this kind of a service," the official said. |
