Over 290 displaced families will benefit from new power project

Minister of Vanni Rehabilitation Noordeen Mashoor addressed a public meeting, after commissioning an electricity supply scheme at Hidyathnagar a relocated village at Karrikkaddai, Maruthankuli in Puttalam over the weekend. Over 290 displaced families will benefit from the new supply to which Rs. 2 million was released by the Ministry.

Minister Mashoor also distributed loans to some selected displaced families to start self-employment projects on their own under the Ministry's Revolving Credit Fund Scheme.

The meeting which was addressed by the Ministry's senior assistant secretary M.I. Seyad Ahamed was presided over by the Secretary of the Hidayathnagar Mosque Trustee Board S.M. Azeez.
