Presentation for joint ventures between Lanka, Norway in fishing industry

In a bid to promote joint ventures between Sri Lanka and Norway in the fishing industry, Norwegian experts in this field are scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to make a presentation and meet local businessmen. The program under the auspices of The Sri Lanka-Norway Industrial Co-operation (Matchmaking) Program, is being organised by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the National Contact Point in Sri Lanka for The Sri Lanka-Norway Industrial Co-operation (Matchmaking) Program.

The presentation will take the form of a half day seminar, titled: "Technical Information and Opportunities in the Fishing Industry between Norwegian and Sri Lankan companies" tomorrow from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Grand Oriental Hotel.

Presentations on the latest technical information on the Fishing Industry will be made by Norwegian experts. The seminar will focus attention on the opportunities available in the fisheries and aquaculture sector in Sri Lanka, Methods of improving the quality of fish on board with refrigerated sea water, Fish receiving? Handling and Storage and potential projects with Sri Lankan companies.

The seminar is aimed at creating awareness among Sri Lankan companies on the opportunities available for joint ventures, business partnerships and collaboration with Norwegian companies in the fisheries sector. The assistance provided by The Sri Lanka-Norway Industrial Co-operation (Matchmaking) Program implemented by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, will also be discussed.

The program is funded by NORAD, whose main objective is to promote joint ventures between Norwegian and Sri Lankan companies. The Sri Lanka-Norway Industrial Co-operation (Matchmaking) Program also promotes joint ventures/partnerships with third country partners, provided the production is based in and exported from Sri Lanka.

Participation is free and is open to representatives of companies as well as individuals with established entities. Participants will be registered on a first come - first serve basis, as the number of participants will be limited.
