The city of Nuwara Eliya is in a festive mood with the international Golf Classic organised by the Grand Hotel, Sri Lankan Airlines and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club being conducted from August 29 to 31.

This event began yesterday (Friday) and both the Men's and Women's events will be played on the 36 hole golf course and will end on August 31.

The Nuwara Eliya Golf courses which underwent a series of developments in the recent past looks in immaculate condition with the bright weather after a spell of continuous rain and strong winds.

Already a large number of visitors and golfers from outstations have arrived in the city for this fabulous competition which includes Ladies and Men's Tournaments, Junior and Novices Tournaments, and Air tickets to London and Singapore by courtesy of SriLankan Airlines, with daily prizes and special gifts, Fun competitions for ladies, men and kids will also be held.

The other chief attraction during this gala time is the newly set up Indian Restaurant created by the Grand Hotel Chief Gerard Ondaatjee' idea attracts more crowds for its array of Indian delicacies.
