Lanka Cagers to B'desh next year The Ex. Co. of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation at its meeting chaired by the President Gamini Nethie Kumara unanimously decided to participate in the South Asian Basketball Association Championship to be played in Dhaka, Bangladesh in January. The SABA represents the SAARC countries. The SABF will select a pool of 25 men and 25 women for selection to the pool. This selection will take place on 23 and 24 August at the Police Grounds, Bambalapitiya. All district associations and affiliated clubs are requested to send participants to the pool. Ignatius Canagaretnam, Senior Vice President of SLBF and also the Senior Vice President of SABA said that this is the first time "The SABA is conducting a tournament for the SAARC countries and he was looking forward for its successful conclusion. |
