The Government last night gazetted five consumer items deemed as essential in the day-to-day lives of the people. The Government had gazetted five products namely cement, gas, milk foods, mosquito coils and safety matches as essential items according to Clause No. 18 of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act. According to the Gazette the prices of these products cannot be raised in the future without prior approval from the Consumer Affairs Authority. |
