Miss Lakmi Tharindra Haupe Liyanage, a student of Sri Sanghamitta Girls School, Matale is suffering from an acute heart ailment, 'Partial AV canal defect" and Consultant Cardiac Surgeon Dr. K. Prasad has recommended urgent heart surgery to save her life.

The surgery and attendant medical package is estimated to cost Rs. 310,000.

Lakmi's father L. H. Liyanage of 1/57, Nagollagama Road, Matale says the President's Fund has agreed to provide Rs. 150,000 to facilitate the surgery. Being a government teacher without any additional income he is unable to find the balance money needed for the surgery. He requests philanthropists and the general public to assist his daughter's cause by sending whatever contributions possible to facilitate the surgery.

All contributions should be remitted to A/C No. 1025 5008 8239 at the Sampath Bank, Matale Branch.
