The camp which is specifically for children between the ages of 8 and 18 years, is being sponsored by Janashakthi Tnsurance Company Limited (JICL) and is being organized and conducted by the Victoria Golf Club.

It was gathered from the secretary VGC, Jannine Weeratunga, when she addressed a media briefing at the conference room of the JICL that they had to restrict the number of participating children, as the VGC had accommodation and other amenities for only 35. The children will be grouped accordingly, with a leader for each group, coming under the guidance of a matron all the boys and girls will, during the camp stay be covered by Janashakthi Insurance.

The camp concept is a step in the right direction and will focus on developing Junior Golf in Sri Lanka by encouraging and introducing new players to the game at a very early age, which will eventually lead to popularizing the game locally.

Apart from introducing young people to the game of golf, this mini camp includes a lot of other fun - filled activities, such as an assault course, swimming, riding, puzzles, drama etc.
