Ultimate aim of SUNFO to create a world of unity - Opposition Leader

by Maharagama special correspondent

The ultimate aim of Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organisation (SUNFO) is to create a non political, non racial, non sectarian world of unity, harmony, peace and prosperity," said Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa gracing the Human Potential Graduation of SUNFO supportive fellow-life Membership awarding ceremony held at the Tower Hall auditorium recently.

Rajapaksa added: "We all belong to one mankind. Every man and woman in the world are relations. Differences are made by the man not by god. The whole world is one family that is the doorway to the global village concept. The prosperity of mankind depends on the unity of all. There is a project drawn up by SUNFO to establish a global village in Hambantota district as an example to the whole world. Families of all the races will be settled in that global village.

All races, religions, castes, creeds, countries, cultures will be housed under one roof. That will be the model society which UNO anticipates ultimately.

The differences racial, political and sectarian have created an aggressive world. The responsibility of the present generation is to do away with all worldly differences and create a world which is a heaven on earth. To achieve that goal we must sacrifice our sweat and blood for it." The following nine citizens were honoured by awarding Human Potential graduation and SUNFO supportive fellow-life membership of various sectors and fields.
