Designing and implementing a Balanced Scorecard The Distance Learning Centre Sri Lanka, a public and private enterprise funded by the World Bank and the government of Sri Lanka has organised a five module training program on the Balanced Scorecard. Facilitated by Alan Fell a renowned performance management specialist from the United Kingdom the program will be conducted as a series of two-day workshops. The first of the series will be conducted from July 29 to 30. The comprehensive hands on training program is designed to develop strategic planners including Managing Directors, CEOs, Business Development Managers, Heads of Corporate Planning, Strategic Managers, Corporate Planners, Financial Directors and other Senior Managers. The Chief Executive Officer of DLC Sri Lanka Russell Kerkoven said that he was extremely pleased with the response to the introductory workshops on the Balanced Scorecard. "Over 90 persons representing 50 organisations from the public and private sectors followed these workshops which were held in May and June this year. Sri Lankan organisations can now have the complete training to design and maintain their own Balanced Scorecard. We are pleased that Alan Fell has accepted our invitation to conduct the entire course with a series of modular workshops. Alan is one of the best experts and trainers on the Balanced Scorecard in the world and we are very fortunate to obtain his services. Together with him we plan to take Sri Lankan organisations towards the optimum performance level", he said. The facilitator of the training program Alan Fell has successfully implemented several Balanced Scorecards across all industries and regionally in the UAE, USA, UK and Sri Lanka. Speaking on the planned training program Alan Fell said "I was overwhelmed by the tremendous enthusiasm shown by Sri Lankan organisations during the two introductory, workshops on the Balanced Scorecard organised by the DLC. It would be a great pleasure to train local organisations to be committed Balanced Scorecard Implementers, he said.
