Ananda, S. Thomas' clash in final Ananda College setup a final showdown with S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia by recording convincing victories in their respective semifinals of the Colombo Schools under 13 hockey tournament worked off at the Astro turf, Reid Avenue yesterday. The Anandians defeated their traditional rivals Nalanda by two goals to nil in the first semifinal having led one nil at half time. B. Walgamage and Vimukthi Galhena netted a goal each for the winners. In the second semifinal S. Thomas' College created a major upset by overcoming the defending champions St. Benedict's College by three goals to nil. Pasan Wijewardena struck twice and S. Kalupathirana scored a goal for the winners. The final will be played on Saturday at the Astro turf, Reid Avenue at 2.00 p.m. (C.D). |
