by Ananda Kannangara

The second party restructuring programme organised by the UNP will be conducted in the Polonnaruwa District from July 18, 19 and 20 under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

During the three-day period of the programme which will be conducted with the assistance of countrywide UNP Parliamentarians, Provincial Council and Pradeshiya Sabha members and other branch organisers, the party leadership is expected to launch house-to-house campaigns to educate people on the developments of the peace process and also other activities to be carried out by the Government in future.

"There are 217 party branch offices in the Polonnaruwa District and arrangements have been finalised to conduct this second party reconstruction programme on a grand scale," UNP Media spokesman Gayantha Karunatillaka told the Daily News yesterday.

According to the programme, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will attend three main meetings on July 20 at Watadageya in Medirigiriya at 9.00 am, Hingurakgoda town at 11.00 am and Swarnapali Gama in Tamankaduwa at 2.00 pm.
