Double Bothale-latest to soft drink industry

Coca-Cola Beverages Distributors Sri Lanka Limited recently launched the "Double Bothale", further expanding their presence in the beverage industry. The Double Bothale is a pack for two and has a truly Sri Lankan flavour, a press release from the company said.

As a common practice most Sri Lankans like to consume soft drinks at the particular place where they buy the bottles from, whether it is a eating place or corner grocery shop. Sri Lankans also have a tendency to share the bottle between two or more individuals.

This strong consumption habit and behaviour has inspired Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka to introduce the Double Bothale. Imal Fonseka, Country Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola Beverages Distributors Sri Lanka said "At present there is no pack that fulfils this unique Sri Lankans habit of sharing. 'Double Bothale' provides a double benefit to locals - firstly by addressing this sharing consumption behaviour and secondly by providing the best value offer in the market."

"The 500 ml 'Double Bothale' is priced on par with other 400 ml packs that are available in the market. This effectively means that the 500 ml 'Double Bothale' provides 25% more than a 400 ml at the same price. So with the 'Double Bothale', now two can share to their hearts' content at no additional cost" Fonseka said. 'Double Bothale' is now available in Lion Cream soda and Portello - Two flavour categories that have maximum appeal and relevance to Sri Lankans. More flavours will be added to the existing range as the 'Double Bothale' gets accepted by the locals as a truly sharing pack.

The current trade balance reflects the extent of Sri Lanka's progress during the last six months in comparison to the corresponding period last year.

The talk on the Free Trade Agreement with specific reference to recent developments will be delivered by D. G. A. P. Dharmapriya, Deputy Director of Commerce who has been associated with the negotiations relating to the agreement for some time.

The panellists will include representatives from the relevant Government agencies such as the Customs, Sri Lanka Standards Institute and the Export Development Board. Counsellor (Economic and Commercial Affairs) of the Indian High Commission will also be a Panellist.
