Bush revs up 2004 re-election bid GREENSBORO, Georgia, Sunday (AFP)-US President George W. Bush raised over two million dollars towards his 2004 reelection bid Friday, using the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to whip up enthusiasm from supporters. "It has never been more clear that the future of freedom and peace depend on the actions of America. This nation is freedom's home and freedom's defender. We welcome this charge of history, and we are keeping it," he said. The fundraiser at a posh golf resort here in rural Georgia scooped up some 2.25 million dollars for what promises to be the US leader's juggernaut campaign for a second four-year term, according to an organizer. Bush's reelection campaign is expected to raise a record-breaking 200 million dollars. |
