News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | UNP media spokesman deplores incidents in Parliament UNP media spokesman Gayantha Karunatillakaon Friday condemned the mischievous acts by JVP parliamentarians and supported by the PA members for bringing a coffin into Parliament to show their anger against the killing of two Provincial Council members recently. He said that people in the country will never forget the days when the JVP activists did not allow the innocent people in the country to carry the coffins above the knee. "So this same old JVP has still not changed their blunt attitudes since Wednesdays incident clearly reflected the base acts done by these members. Karunatillaka also said when these so-called parliamentarians know that police are conducting an independent inquiry into this matter and try to arrest the culprits it is unethical for them to behave like insane people in a place like Parliament. Even few days earlier the same group of members caused a stir in Parliament by placing a wreath before a Government Minister over another incident. |
