St. Joseph's College scored a morale boosting 36 points to 19 win over Vidyartha College Kandy in their Milo 'B' division league inter school rugby tournament match played at Longden Place yesterday.

The Josephians collected their points from three goals and three tries having led at half time. Vidyartha managed to score only two goals and a try. Ishan Fernando and Shane Fernando scored two tries each while Chamath Munasinghe and Chatura Perera scored a try each for the Joes. Pradeep Kumara converted three tries.

Kosala Tissera scored two tries for Vidyartha and Chatura Perera scored one try while Pushpakumara was successful in converting one try.

Lumbini in upset win over DSS

Lumbini MV scored an upset 29 points to 15 win over D. S. Senanayake College in their Milo 'C' division league inter school rugby tournament match played at Havelock Park yesterday.

Lumbini MV scored three goals, one try and a penalty having led 14-5 at half time. D. S. Senanayake responded with three unconverted tries.

Sylvestrians win

St. Sylvester's College put up a fine performance to beat Zahira College by 15 points to 7 in their Milo 'B' division league inter school rugby tournament match played at Maradana yesterday.

The Sylvestrians collected their points from one goal, one try and a penalty having taken a close 8-7 lead at half time. Zahira College managed to score only a solitary try.
