CH face tough task against Havelocks The Colombo Hockey and Football Club, which suffered a morale-shattering 13-35 defeat at the hands of Kandy Sports Club last week, have the tough task of overcoming the formidable Havelocks Sports Club in their Caltex 'A' Division League Rugby match at Maitland Crescent today. The Park Club is in a buoyant mood after their sensational 18-16 win over Army last week and will field the same team for today's match. The lads from Maitland Crescent have made a few changes for today's game. Fly half Nalin Dissanayake who had a poor game last week has been left out and will be replaced by former Poterite Dinuka Jayasinghe. Fijian Winger Alex Telea is on the injured list and his place will be taken by veteran Yuganthara Karunaratne. Possession will play a vital role in the final outcome. In the set scrums Sri Lanka hooker Sameera Wijeyesinghe of CH should get the better of his vis-a-vis Rajiv Perera of Havelocks while the line outs should be shared between the Havelocks duo of Sornaratne and Boteju and CH's Duminda de Silva and Bandara. In the loose a terrific tussle for supremacy can be expected with CH's Hettiarachchi, Wijeyesinghe, Bandara, Wijesekera, Duminda de Silva and Lewke being confronted by equally good forwards in Shafi Hassan, Ekanayake, Miskin Deen, Bopearachchi, Wanasinghe and Sornaratne. However the park club boast of a better set of three quarters. In Tariq Mohamed and Jiffrey Saheed they have an excellent halves combination but the biggest threat to CH will be posed by the two Tongan centres Joseph Waqa and Tavita Kaufusi who are capable of tearing apart the CH defence with their daring runs while on the wing they will have the services of that powerful runner Lakala Perera with full back Lalindra Rodrigo joining the line to form the overlap. It is left to be seen how the new CH halves combination of Milinda Jayasinghe and Dinuka Jayasinghe will fare today. If they click then CH too will be able to make use of the good ball that comes their way as they have two hard running centres Saranga Jayakody and Fijian Jim Bolokoro with that elusive runner Dinesh Kumara on the wing.
