Bangladesh under 23 team to play eight matches here by S. M. Jiffrey Abdeen - Kandy Sports Correspondent Bangladesh Under 23 National cricket team will make a three week tour of Sri Lanka and they will play eight matches during their tour. The Bangladesh Under 23 cricket team will be led by Nafis Iqbal with former national cricketer Fagua Ahamed as Manager. Former Director Coach and Director Development of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka Malcolm Perera will accompany the team as the coach of the Bangladesh Under 23 National Team. Malcolm Perera has been in Bangladesh for over two years now as the Junior National Coach. During their tour the Bangladesh team is also expected to visit Madawala and make a donation of cricket materials to Madina Central College as a gesture of goodwill. The tour itinerary is as follows: June 22nd Sunday - Second One Day Match against Combined NCC/SSC Under 23 team at Khettarama Stadium. June 24th Tuesday - Third one day match against Max BCCSL Cricket Academy Squad at Khettarama Stadium. June 26th and 27th (Monday/Tuesday) 1st two day match against Combined Premier Clubs - Under 23 in Colombo. June 30th and July 1st (Mon/Tue) 2nd two day match against Combined Premier Clubs under 23 in Colombo. July 3rd and 4th (Thu/Friday) 3rd two day match against Max BCCSL Cricket Academy Squad in Colombo. July 7th and 8th (Mon/Tue) 4th two day match against Combined Premier Clubs under 23 in Colombo. July 10th and 11th (Thu/Fri) 5th two day match against Sri Lanka under 19 national squad in Colombo. July 12th - Saturday - Departure from the Katunayake International Airport. The touring team will comprise: Nafis Iqbal (Captain), Aftab Ahamed, Rajin Saleh (Vice Captain), Nazim Uddin, Mazharul Haque, Anwar Hossain, Ali Arman, Shafaz Ali Zabir, Enamul Haque, Alamgir Kabir, Talha Jubair, Cazi Alamgir, Humayun Kabir, Nadif Chowdury, and Rubayat Haque. |
