The Trial-at-Bar hearing the Udatalawinna mass murder on Thursday granted permission to the first accused in the Udathalawinna massacre, former Deputy Minister of Defence Anuruddha Ratwatte to participate in the SLFP's 22nd annual convention to be held at Sanghabodhi Vidyalaya in Nittambuwa on June 22, 2003.

The order was sequel to an application made by Defence Counsel R.I. Obesekara PC on behalf of the first accused, seeking court's permission for him to attend the convention.
