by Sarath Malalasekera A special Police team has been deployed by Panadura SP Kithsiri Dayananda to arrest several suspects who are alleged to have committed a number of criminal offences in the Panadura division. A haul of weapons including a foreign made revolver and ammunition also had been recovered by the special police team during the past five months. They include two locally made 'Galkatas' from the Panadura police area. Five hand bombs and a weapon which had been used for a murder were recovered from the Keselwatta police area. The Wadduwa Police have recovered an Italian-made revolver, a T-56 from the possession of an army deserter, a locally made weapon which had been used to commit a murder and a foreign made hand bomb and fifteen live 9 mm bullets. The Bandaragama Police have recovered a 12 bore rifle which had been used for an attempted murder with four SG bullets. A team of officers of the Horana Police station have recovered a foreign made hand bomb, .38 revolver, 12 bore and a locally made galkatas which had been used for several robberies. A T-56 automatic rifle and three hand bombs were recovered by the officers of the Anguruwatota police station. The officers of the Ingiriya Police station recovered an automatic pistol, three live bullets and a hand bomb from the possession of the suspects who are alleged to have committed a number of robberies in the Ingiriya police area. |
