Nizky Khalid awarded Black Belt

The Fei Quan Do International held a grading test for its members from several Fei Quan Do training centres for Orange, Green, Blue, Grey, Brown and Black Belts at St. Joseph's College Sports Complex, Darley Road, Maradana under the personal supervision of International martial arts expert Grandmaster M. Hassen Khalid, the founder of Fei Quan Do martial arts.

The 13-year-old M. Nizky Khalid of Zahira College, Maradana and attached to Noble Institute Maligawatte won the 1st Dai Black Belt and becoming the youngest Black Belt in Fei Quan Do. Nuzky has been training under his father M. Hassen Khalid from the age of 5 years. His elder brother M. Nuzary Khalid is also a Black Belt and is the senior Fei Quan Do Instructor of the FQI. A large number of members participated from the CIS centre, Wellawatta, MICH (Centre), Maradana. St. Joseph's College Sports Complex Fei Quan Do Centre, Amal International School, Wellawatte participated.

According to Grandmaster Khalid, the participants were tested for the skills in punches, blocks, kicks, stances, one step sparring, full contact fighting, katas, self defence techniques etc.

The results are as follows:

Black Belt: M. Nuzky Khalid (Zahira College, Noble Institute).

Brown Belt 1: A. Usama Naufel (Zahira College).

Brown Belt 2: Chalitha Irandika Mudalige (St. Joseph's College, David Dallas Carvalho (St. Joseph's College), Sudarshanie Gunaratne (Fort Magistrates Court), Sithmi Gunaratne (St. Joseph's FQI centre), Dorothy Flavia Stanley (St. Joseph's FQI Centre), M.R.M. Nihmatullah (Noble Institute).

Brown Belt 3: R. Suntheranathana (Ceylinco), S. Bavithran (Hindu College). Brown Belt 4: K.L.M. Dharmabandu (Union Assurance), Jenites Perera (CIS Centre, Wellawatte), A.I.A. Intequab (Amal International School), A.I.A. Hisham (Aamal International School), M. Faazil Fariz (Amal International School), A. Sirfras Ahmed (Royal College), Ananda Ranasinghe (MICH Colombo).

Grey Belts: Roshan Madawala (Institute of Policy Studies), Ajith Kumara (Noble Institute).

Blue Belts: Mishu Barua (Wesley College), V. Srikanth (Noble Institute), M.R.M. Umair (DSS), Ikram Mohinudeen (Minhal Intl. Boys School), Azri Wahid (CIS Centre, Wellawatte), A. Shabry Fatha (Amal International School), Dilip Kumar (St. Mathew's), M. Yoosuf Faizal (Minhal Intl. Boys School), Amanda Dharmabandu (Holy Family Convent), Manisha Dharmabandu (Holy Family convent).

Green Belt: M. Imad Fakhir (St. Peter's), Tariq Mohinudeen (CIS, Wellawatte), G. Avinash (St. Nicholas), Andrew Jude Koch (St. Joseph's, FQI Centre), Amri Azeez (Wesley College), Daanish Suttood (St. Joseph's, FQI Centre), Aahdil Ameen (CIS, Wellawatte), Nasif Ameen (CIS, Wellawatte), Darren Vazirani (Amal International School), Farhan Ismail (St. Peter's), Ejaaz Ahmed (St. Peter's), Devon Rodrigo (St. Joseph's).

Organge Belts: M.S.M. Ifhanam (Amal International School), Muaad Nalir (Amal International School), Musaad Nalir (Amal International School), Musaab Nalir (Amal International School), M.M. Yaseer (Aamal International School), Mohamed Amarkhan (Amal International School), M. Rikaz (Arethusa College).

The certificates and awards ceremony will be held shortly under the direction of a three member committee comprising M.C.M. Zarook, Upali Kumarasiri, Sunil Kandamby, said Khalid.
