Asia Scurities executes first seamless on-line trading order in Lanka

Asia Securities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Asia Capital Ltd made the historic leap to real time on-line electronic trading by executing their first buy order through CDAX to the Colombo Stock Exchange yesterday.

As of yesterday, Colombo Stock Exchange brokers and investors may monitor and or trade their portfolios from anywhere in the world.

This has been made possible through pioneering software known as CDAX, introduced by new financial technology provider Investor Access Asia. CDAX provides real-time access to the Colombo Stock Exchange and offers traders the ability to monitor and or trade this stock market through the internet.

Asia Securities has been consistently committed to advancing investor accessibility to the CSE and became the first CSE-registered broker to place the Colombo Stock Exchange on-line for their customers in July 1999.

Today, they make history again, this time by implementing technology so that all clients with internet access may monitor their investments in real time through the provision of seamless order execution, a company spokesman said.

Seamless order execution now makes it possible for an investor to watch the stock market, live, in real time, with real-time access to market depth and order placement facilities.

Real time on-line trading has proved to be the major growth area in international markets for some time and Asia Securities are the first stock broking firm to implement this system in Sri Lanka. Chief Operating Officer Asanga Seneviratne said "I am absolutely delighted that Asia Securities may now offer the ability to monitor and/or trade the CSE to our investors regionally and globally so that our clients will have immediate real-time access to their investments through the Internet.

This will greatly benefit investor confidence in the market, and as accessibility and confidence in the Sri Lanka bourse increases, the economy as a whole will be positively impacted." Investor Access Asia will be launching CDAX on June 20 as a complete technology solution for brokerage houses. IAA Director Radhika Philip said "Naturally we are proud to see CDAX take Asia Securities to the next step in financial trading in Sri Lanka.

We will be offering CDAX and broker network solutions to all CSE-registered brokers as of June 20 and are currently in negotiations for the sale of CDAX to other established brokerage houses.

Hiran Mendis, Director General of the Colombo Stock Exchange recently confirmed CSE support of IAA's seamless on-line trading as "Empowering the modern investor."
