Udatalawinna mass murder : Eye witness dreads over threat to life

"Should there be any harm to me or members of my family by one Alahudeen of our village who does anything for money and the Ratwatte family will be held responsible" said Mohamed Abdul Malik an eye witness of the Udatalawinna incident. He had been continuing his evidence for six days making a special statement. The Trial-at-Bar comprised High Court Judges Eric Basnayake (President), Deepali Wijesundara and Sunil Rajapaksa.

At the stage, the R.I. Obeysekera PC Counsel appearing for the first accused former Deputy defence Minister Gen. Anuruddha Ratwatte and his two sons Lohan and Chanaka, the 2nd and 3rd accused urged court to record that the accused were not known to any Alahudeen and that the fears and the allegations expressed by the witness were unfounded.
