BHP Steel Lysaght awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification BHP Steel Lysaght Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. was recently awarded the latest quality management system certification; ISO 9001:2000 from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), Switzerland. The Company is a Board of "investment (BOI) enterprise and is a joint venture company between BHP Steel Limited of Australia and SVH Investments Ltd, a Sri Lankan company. BHP Lysaght's factory opened at the Lindell Industrial Estate, Sapugaskanda in 1996 and since that time the Company has built an enviable reputation providing high quality steel building products to the Sri Lankan market. This company is the only steel rollforming company in Sri Lanka to be certified to this internationally recognised quality standard. During the presentation of the certificate, Company President, Chris Precious said that receiving such a prestigious award is a very significant achievement and a proud moment for the Company. "The Company's range of high quality steel building products from Australia are well-known in the Sri Lankan market, but selling top quality products alone is not enough", Precious said. "We also have to continually provide superior products and services to our customers. The development of the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system has provided us with a platform from which we can continually improve the performance of the business in terms of the quality of the products and customer service which we provide to our valued customers. Precious paid tribute to the hard work of all BHP Lysaght staff who have contributed to achieve this success. |
