Standard Chartered launches 'Go for it' deposit account promotion

Standard Chartered Bank has launched a six-month promotional campaign, called 'Go for it', from April to October 2003. This is targeted at their personal rupee deposit accounts. Current, Savings, Children's-Early Bird Young Saver (EBYS) and Call account holders, both existing and new qualify for the promotion, the bank said in a release.

A grand draw is organised at the end of the promotion and the bank will present twenty-two air tickets from SriLankan Airlines to some of the choicest destinations in the world.

Existing account holders for these accounts are required to maintain a minium average balance stipulated for the entire month for their name to be entered into the draws held during the promotional period. Minimum balances for EBYS and Saving Accounts are Rs. 10,000 each, whereas for Current and Call Accounts it is Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 100,000 respectively.

A holder of several of the accounts fulfilling the minimum balance requirement for each account will have his name entered for all the accounts he maintains with the bank. Holders of EBYS and Savings Accounts will have an entry each whereas Current and Call Accounts earn four entries each.

Standard Chartered Bank account holders will double their entries to the grand draw for new accounts opened during the promotional period. A Savings Account with the minimum required balance will have an entry for the grand draw and the same opened during the promotional period will garner two entries.

These new accounts will be identified with the date of the account opened. Accounts closed before the draw are not qualified for the draw as well as fresh funds need to be brought to open new accounts instead of transferring funds from the existing ones or closing one and reopening an account, the release said.
