Life returning to normal in flooded areas

Life in the flood affected areas is gradually returning to normal with flood waters receding and increasing contact with the displaced victims, the Prime Minister's representative in the Disaster Management Committee, Power and Energy minister Karu Jayasuriya said yesterday.

Urges LTTE to show "more understanding" Govt will abide by country's legal framework - PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe declared yesterday that the LTTE has to be a "little more understanding" of the issues involved in the ethnic conflict, saying "what is being demanded is not what can easily be delivered".

LTTE not complying with SLMM ruling on sailor - SLMM Deputy Chief
