Dazzling display of open rugby by CH's three quarters

CH and FC's three quarters turned in a dazzling display of open rugby in the second half to score a runaway 89-6 win over Kandy Youths in their Caltex 'A' Division League Rugby match on Sunday.

After being contained in the first half CH got their act together after the breather to score eleven more tries.

The experienced halves combination of Milinda Jayasinghe and Nalin Dissanayake hit if off smoothly while centres Jim Bolokoro and Saranga Jayakody breached the Kandy Youths defence time and again with their probing runs while wingers Dinesh Kumara and Pradeep Sivakantha too impressed with their powerful runs down the flank.

Fijian Jim Bolokoro had a superb game scoring six tries while wingers Dinesh Kumara and Sivakantha scored two tries each to help CH and FC register their fifth successive win for the season.

Havelocks Sports Club crushed the minnows of 'A' Division rugby Old Zahirians by 102 points to nil at Havelock Park on Friday.

Tongan No. 8 Sitaleki Mafilio was the most impressive of the Park Club players and crossed the OZSC goal line on four occasions.

Wingers Lakala Perera and Muhamdiramge also had an outstanding game scoring three tries while another player who stood out was scrum half Mohamed Tariq who foxed the Old Zahirians defence with his daring breaks from the base of the scrum.

Table leaders Sri Lanka Army scored a smashing 137-5 win over lowly placed Kurunegala RFC on Saturday at Galle Face.

The soldiers were strengthened by the inclusion of Western Samoan One Okaesone as they went on the rampage to plant 25 tries against the hapless Kurunegala RFC. (R.S.)
