Ingrin seminar on new technology in printing

The Ingrin Institute of Printing and Graphics Sri Lanka Ltd., set up under the Ministry of Tertiary Eduction and Training Commission conducted a seminar recently on New Technology in Printing at the Ingrin Auditorium for personnel involved in printing, advertising, and publishing houses.



Dhammika Karunadhara, Senior Lecturer of the Ingrin Institute of Printing and Graphics addresses the audience on New Technology in Printing Industry.

The need for such a seminar was felt with the increasing problems related to digital media applications. The latest printing industry has to offer right now is the "Digital Pre press and Digital Printing". The growth prospects in this market segment is marking this topic more interesting. What is digital pre press and digital printing and what is actually digital about it was the main theme of the seminar. The seminar addressed the huge involvement in digital applications in today's printing industry and related problems and how to overcome them to enhance the effectiveness of the processes.

The vast technological development in imaging arts industry over the past decade has resulted in the new challenges. Hence to keep abreast with the new technology, it is imperative that training and development in the sphere of workshop level/seminars are important for those who involved in the respective areas. Ingrin is playing a major role in maintaining the standard by providing the right education and training to this industry.

Ousman Jayah, Ravi Peiris, Tilak Premakumara and Dhammika Karunadhara were able to solve the problems of those in the audience. These experts have undergone special training in the Netherlands on new technology and developments through Ingrin Sri Lanka.

Addressing the audience the Director Operations of Ingrin Sri Lanka Sisira Baranage said that Ingrin has undertaken the challenge to uplift the industry standards to meet the demands by conducting such seminars, workshops and new study programs through Ingrin Sri Lanka. According to him the services of Ingrin Sri Lanka will extend to Asian and Middle East countries in the near future.
