Vehicle thefts on the rise

The Crimes Division of Western Province North yesterday warned people visiting Dehiwela Zoo, Nawaloka Hospital and the National Hospital to safeguard their vehicles from robbers since an increasing number of vehicles are being stolen from above mentioned areas.

The latest arrest was made this week when two suspects along with two vans were taken into custody by the unit. The investigations so far revealed that an organised group of around eight are carrying out vehicle thefts in places where vehicles are parked outside Dehiwela Zoo, Nawaloka Hospital and General Hospital.

The "standard method" used by the gang is to break open the door with use of a "all purpose key". The older locks would easily break open, IP R. M. P. D. Ratnayaka told the Daily News yesterday.

He advised the visitors to park their vehicles close by and to fix any broken or older locks which can easily be accessed vehicle thieves. Six suspects of the eight member gang are still at large.

World class time management seminar

The well-known Time Management (Timex) seminar will be presented at World Class level by Mansoor Ghouse, Management Trainer and Coach on June 10 at the Continental Hotel, Colombo. Sponsored by the Lions Club of Colombo (Host) in aid of its many community service projects, Timex now bears comparison with the Time Management seminars that are a standard feature in the management training landscape of developed countries.

Mansoor Ghouse presents novel and fresh thinking on the management of time which should be the first priority of every effective manager. Peter Trucker, world-renowned as Mr. Management of the 20th century, declared that the management of Time must come before the management of Work. Nevertheless, most managers just do work as it comes without thought for a planned approach designed to put first things first.

Just one technique demonstrated in the seminar offering a simple way of establishing priorities is alone worth the cost of the seminar!

The unique risk-free guarantee of a full refund in the event of any dissatisfaction, no questions asked is assurance that the contents of the event, and the state-of-the-art technologies used to deliver it, will amply meet the needs of a wide spectrum of management.
