President's stand on DLB issue very clear - Amunugama

PA Media Spokesman Dr. Sarath Amunugama said that the President's stand on the Development Lotteries Board issue was very clear and that she was waiting for the response from Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Addressing a media briefing Amunugama said the President has consulted expert legal opinion on the matter before her action in this regard. She did not seek the opinion of the Attorney General on the matter.

The PA media spokesman also urged the government to respond to the request made by the Thai Government and cooperate with the Thai authorities on the issue of gun running by the LTTE.

Meanwhile MP Mangala Samaraweera speaking at the same media briefing was of the view that the donor conference planned for June in Tokyo should go ahead in the interest of the people of Sri Lanka.
