UNP committee to prepare code of conduct meets OPA

The Committee appointed by the United National Party to prepare a code of conduct for its membership had discussion with representatives of the Organization of Professionals' Association on May 12.

This committee will consider the views of the organizations of Professionals' Association and of several other organizations and individuals for setting up a code of conduct for all members of the UNP, in order to strengthen their discipline and set an example to the rest of the country.

The members of the committee headed by the Deputy Leader of the UNP, Minister of Power and Energy, Karu Jayasuriya, comprise of the Chairman of the UNP Malik Samarawickrama, Vice Chairman, Daya Pelpola and General Secretary, Senerath Kapukotuwa. The Chairman of the Professionals' Association V. N. C. Gunasekera together with 22 other senior members of the Professionals' Association participated at this meeting, states a press release from the Ministry of Power and Energy.
