Three special Police units to record human rights violations

Police Department has set up three special units to record statements of persons who had made complaints to the Police Department in connection with the violation of their human rights.

The Police Public Relations Unit Director, Senior SP Rienzie Perera appealed to those who had made complaints regarding violations of human rights to appear before the Special Unit in order to record their statements and to commence investigations.

Complainants - Kumar Selvarajah of Yogapuram, Mallavi, Y. Thiruchelvam of Urathirapuram, Thambirajah Kamaladasan of Mailankadu, Weeraputhiram Devi of Karavedi East, Armugam Pakkiri of Vavuniya, Chitravel Manivannan of Vavuniya. These persons could contact the Special Police Unit on telephone numbers - 324994, 391378 or 422176 for further information.

Complainants - Subramaniam Tharabalasingham of Vavuniya, S. Kumar Nadirmathanby of Batticaloa, Jayaweerasingham Kadiresan of Thalayadi, L. Subramaniam of Velvettithurai, K. Rasarathnam, Gunarathanam Rasarathnam, Murugaiya Periyathamby all of Nagar Kovil West, T. Thiriviyarasa of Madawarachchi, Selvam Asok Kumara, Armugam Pathiri, Luckshman Kathiswaram, Nadarasan Rajaratnam, Weeraiya Udayakumar, P. Ravi Ravindran, all of Vavuniya, P. Yogeswaram of Veppakulam Camp, Parameswaran Mutthurasa of Waddekenai, Rajendra Jeganathan, Siva Kumar Jeganatha both of Sikandapuram, Ranganathan Kandasawamy, Nadarajasingham Vinasitham, Anthoni Pillai Panilu all of Mulliwaikkal, B. Wairamurthi of Konavil, S. Rajasiwam of Aarmithi Pura, K. Sunethram of Konavil, A.
