At its Sixth Session, the Provisional World Parliament held recently in Bangkok, Thailand, made three Distinguished Service Peace Awards. The recipients were: The Karikar Vaitha the most Senior World Federalist in India, Prof. Eroll E. Harris, John Evans Professor of Moral and Intellectual Philosophy (Emeritus) North Western University, USA and Dr. T. P. Amerasinghe, President World Constitution and Parliament Association, Sri Lanka and USA. Prof. Glen T. Martin of Radford University, USA and Vice President, Provisional World Parliament, recalled Dr. Amerasinghe's 40 year dedication for World Peace and the brotherhood of man. States a press release from the World Constitution and Parliament Association. The parliamentary Sessions were declared open by Col. Dr. Somkid Srisangkom representative of President of the Senate of Thailand. Bills and Resolutions adopted during the Sessions included: the World Peace Act; the Statute of the World Court of Human Rights; the World Security Act and the World Natural Resources Act. The concluding Session of the Provisional Parliament coincided with the 60th Birth Anniversary of the Most Venerable Bhikku Ariyawanso (Formerly Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong) World Peace Envoy. It was held at Kuwan Yin Inter Religious Park, Petchburi. The occasion was marked by the World Peace Envoy's Award to Dr. T. P. Amerasinghe for his outstanding services for Peace during the last four decades and his continuous work for the establishment of a World Government and World Parliament as the only permanent solution to end the War/Peace/War Cycle that has beset humanity through the ages. |
