The two parties had agreed to include a document, "Pancha Maha Piliweth" where five basic areas of interest will be considered. Secondly, they have included a document where economic, social, and cultural regeneration will be taken up for discussion and finally a document that deal with technical issues such as the structure of the alliance and party membership. "This agreement will also include a special section to bring all crooks to trial and to take severe actions against those who had stolen and distorted the culture of the country", he said Speaking at the weekly media briefing, Amunugama accused the Government of corruption within the Ministries and Ministers which had ultimately led to the UNP executive committee decision to carry out a probe into corruption charges against the ministers. Amunugama who labelled Jo Sim is a crook who was kept out of Sri Lanka for over ten years by late President Premadasa and said that he has now become the symbol of economic development of the UNP Government making inroads into the country's economy by way of a Disneyland. He openly challenged Jo Sim to produce the so-called franchise obtained by him, to open a Disneyland since the franchise cannot be obtained easily by an individual. Amunugama further said that as a Buddhist he was shocked to see Buddhist monks tying the prith nool on such a crook. |
