Weeraratne grabs 6 for 18 Paceman Kaushalya Weeraratne grabbed six wickets for the Sri Lanka 'A' team but their one day practice match against the touring Pakistan team ended in a no decision at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday. Pakistan were dismissed for 187 runs from 43.3 overs and the home side had reached 21 for 1 in five overs when heavy rain put an end to the days proceedings at 4.25 p.m. Weeraratne who came into bowl as the fourth seamer returned excellent figures of 6 for 18 from 8.3 overs. As a result the strong Pakistan batting line up folded up for a disappointing total of 187 runs with skipper Rashid Latif hitting a top score of 45. The wicket keeper batsman pulled his side out of real trouble while adding 65 runs for the sixth wicket with Shoaib Malik. Earlier Pakistan collapsed to 97 for 5 with Weeraratne capturing the first three wickets in a hostile spell of bowling. Pakistan take on Sri Lanka in the opening match of the one day triangular series on Saturday at Dambulla.
