Casiechetty bros. excel

Queens club knocked out the current champions SSC in the inter club doubles, tennis over 35 championship. Casiechetty brothers Niranjan and Rajiv beat the much fancied pair of Arjun Fernando and Aruna Seneviratne in a thrilling 3 setter.

In the deciding match Aendra Bandaranaike and Chammika De Silva beat Janaka Fernando and J. Kelegama in a hectic 3 setter. Niranjan and Rajiv Casiechetty (Queens) beat Arjun Fernando and Aruna Seneviratne (SSC) - 4/6, 7/5, 6/4, Ravi Subramaniam and C. Perera (SSC) beat R. De Livera and K. Kumara Kulasingham - 6/1, 6/1 and Aendra Bandaranaike and Chammika De Silva (Queens) beat Janaka Fernando and J. Kelegama (SSC) 4/6, 6/4, 7/6.

Meanwhile, the main finals will be played on May 3 and 4, followed by the awards ceremony on the final day evening. (D.W.)
