Cabinet decisions

** The Cabinet approved the recommendation made by Finance Minister K.N. Choksy to sign a draft agreement between Sri Lanka and Hongkong to avoid double taxation of revenues earned by shipping and air transport.

** The Cabinet also approved a recommendation made by the same Minister to sign a draft agreement with Qatar to avoid double taxation and prevention of fiscal evaluation.

** The Cabinet approved a recommendation made by Agriculture and Livestock Minister S.B. Dissanayake to give tax relief to livestock breeding materials.

** According to a recommendation made by Foreign Affairs Minister Tyronne Fernando Sri Lanka will sign a partnership agreement with South Africa to link the private sectors of both countries and collaboration in various fields.

** The Cabinet approved a recommendation made by Fisheries and Ocean Resources Minister Mahinda Wijesekara to sign an MoU between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for co-operation in fisheries.

** The Cabinet approved a proposal made by Irrigation and Water Management Minister Rukman Senanayake and Minister Jayawickrema Perera to handover the maintenance of the brook (Diya Agala) located around the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy to the Central Region Development Ministry.

** The Cabinet approved a proposal made by Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake to sign two agreements to upgrade Sri Lanka's law related to intellectual property.
