No decision

The touring Moreton Cricket Association team from Brisbane Australia figured in a no decision in their opening one day match against the Elizabeth Moir Invitation XI at the NCC grounds, Maitland Place yesterday.

The visitors reached 153 for 7 in 38 overs when rain halted play in reply to the home team's total of 235 for 9 in 50 overs.

The Moreton Cricket Association team consists of junior cricketers from leading schools in Brisbane with age spread of 13 to 16 years. Almost all the players have taken part in the Queensland junior cricket championships.

They will also be involved in some goodwill acts and are expected to donate cricket kits and other assorted equipment to the junior cricketers in the Gampaha District Cricket Association. The team and coaches will also involve themselves in training sessions with groups of Sri Lankan junior cricketers and coaches in order to give an insight into Australian way of training.
