BCCSL denial The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) has in a press release stated that no leading bowler had been involved in an incident at the Customs where he is alleged to have brought a large number of expensive bats as personal belongings and made to pay customs duty. The press release states that Dr. Neville Gunawardena, acting for chief of customs had informed the BCCSL chief executive Anura Tennekoon that there has not been any such incident and no leading cricketer was required to pay customs duty as alleged in the news report. We are led to believe otherwise. Apart from the 'Daily News', two other daily papers also ran the story. |
