Whatmore for India or Kenya?

Vernon Gunasekera reporting from Sharjah...

Kenya and India are among the prospective bidders for the services of Sri Lankan outgoing Cricket Coach Dev Whatmore who is presently struggling for the consent of his wife and children to leave Sri Lanka.

Kenya Cricket Association's Cricket Committee Chairman Sharad Gaaye who is presently in Sharjah is supposed to have approached Sri Lankan Cricket Commentator Ranjit Fernando, now in Sharjah, to bring this suggestion for Whatmore's consideration.

Kenyan Cricket Team entered the Sharjah Tournament this time, making use of the United Arab Emirate's cricket coach Abid Ali on a temporary basis. Kenya, now on the look out for a cricket coach has approximately a month more to find an alternative, states Gaaye.

India is the first country to seek Whatmore's services as the Indian National Junior Cricket Coach or as the coach of the Indian National Cricket Academy. India's hope is yet ongoing.
