Daily News report brings results The news report that appeared in the Daily News on Feb. 03, 2003 under the headline.' Telephone services out of order'. Written by Bulathsinhala Special Correspondent has already drawn the attention of the Ministry of Health, WP. Following the news report, authorities concerned had allocated seven lakhs of rupees for the renovation activities in the telephone service system inside the Horana Base Hospital. At present the telephone services inside the hospital has already been renovated and the maintenance of it has been handed over to Sri Lanka Telecom. The telephone system has been operating since March 3rd, 2003. The doctors, the staff and the Horana Base Hospital Committee express their thanks to the Daily News for the great service done by spotlighting the news. JICA president to visit here JICA president Takao Kwakami is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from March 25 to 27. The purpose of his visit is to exchange views with the VIP's of the Government of Sri Lanka with regard to present development objectives of the government, site observation of some of JICA assisted projects in southern part of Sri Lanka and also to exchange ideas with Japanese officials who are engaged in technical cooperation activities in Sri Lanka with regard to the issues faced by them in implementing technical assistance in Sri Lanka. |
