Blast kills four in eastern India

NEW DELHI, March 12 (AFP) - Four people died and seven more were injured Wednesday when a blast ripped through a house in the eastern Indian city of Patna, the Press Trust of India said.

Police said the explosion flattened the two-storey private home in the city's Alamganj residential district.

The fire department said a faulty cooking gas bottle could have ignited but the police said they were investigating.

Patna is the state capital of the eastern state of Bihar, India's most crime-prone state.
