MoU to strengthen trade and economic ties between Lanka, India AMCHAM Sri Lanka and AMCHAM India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote trade, investment and techno-economic cooperation. Accordingly, the two organisations will work with each other in a joint effort to develop, promote and strengthen mutual cooperation. AMCHAM - India and AMCHAM - Sri Lanka will jointly aim and work together to identify items and areas, projects, products and services bearing potential and suitability for trade and investment between Sri Lanka and the member organisations of AMCHAM - India and will jointly encourage the exchange of information and technical assistance to businesses desirous of exporting and importing and for project implementation. AMCHAM - India and AMCHAM - Sri Lanka will encourage and whenever possible facilitate scientific, technical and economic relations and joint trade, technical and market research related missions and to this end will on an ongoing basis exchange available information and assist in the promotion of joint business ventures and / or mutually beneficial business contacts or other activities which promote trade and economic co-operation. Depending upon mutual convenience, compliance with the applicable laws and regulations of each jurisdiction and subject to the appropriation of funds for this particular purpose, AMCHAM - India and AMCHAM - Sri Lanka will assist each other in the organisation of or participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, symposia, conferences, technical training or other similar events within the competence of the parties which promote the joint efforts and goals. |
