BCCSL to hold inquiry The Disciplinary Committee of the BCCSL has decided that an inquiry be held into the statement submitted by Sylvester Dias, Match referee on 7th, 8th and 9th February 2003 at De Soyza Stadium, Moratuwa in the match between Sebastianites C & AC and Air Force SC on the complain made against Ajith Cooray on 9th February 2003, for assaulting an umpire who officiated the match. Cooray has been suspended from participating in any tournament conducted by the BCCSL pending conclusion of the inquiry. The suspension will be effective from 11th February 2003. If Cooray does not attend this inquiry without a valid excuse, the inquiry will be held exparte. The inquiry has been fixed for Wednesday 19th February 2003 at 5.00 pm. at the BCCSL headquarters. Sylvester Dias - match referee, Rohana De Silva and Nalin Vithana - the two umpires will be present for the inquiry. |
