Negombo YSC maintains lead

Negombo Youth Sports Club maintained its top position in the points table of the Premier League soccer championship. Negombo YSC has registered seven victories out of seven games played so far to collect maximum number of points 21.

Navy SC who were lying third behind Police SC moved to second place when they registered a one-nil victory over Blue Star SC, Kalutara last week. They have won five games from eight outings, drew two and lost one to have 17 points under their belt.

Police after seven matches in one point behind Navy have the chance of pushing the second placed Navy. Meanwhile the Old Bens who occupied the last slot after completion of the first round have done well in the second round to move up to eleventh position collecting five points after completing seven games. Defending champs Saunders SC who got off to a very poor start in the first round losing the Ratnam SC never showed signs of recovery, and are placed in the 12th slot just above Victory SC and Blue Star SC.
